So I bought a cheap Japanese battery off Amazon for around $11. It has NFC, and is rated at 4230mAh, but there's no way it can be that slim with that capacity. Anyway, its gold, and says "Platinum Li-iOn battery" with a giant, comic book looking Pow image with the capacity on the front, anyone know if these batteries are decent for the money? It lasts a good while.

You should be carefull with some non OEM and not that well known brand battery as it might explode... 4230 mAh?? Pretty sure its fake. If its real.. probably the battery isn't optimized or not efficient at all. Meaning that a the original OEM battery with a smaller capacity but very power efficient will out perform higher capacity but not efficient battery. I suggest you to buy some well known branded battery rather than risky "high capacity" battery.
