I've been thinking about buying a wireless charger but was curious if it charges at the standard 1.2 amps or 2.1 rapid rate. Does anyone know?

I was actually thinking of buying something similar to this.

Not this exact one, but just used for an example. This one I linked to has a slow charge rate.

Wireless charging on the S5 is much slower than "plugging it in", however, I have been using QI wireless charging since the S3 days, and would now never give it up. We have two S5's, and one uses the official charging back, and the other uses the type that you have in the link. They both charge at about the same rate (no measurements, but real world experience). I always drop it on the charging plate at night, so I don't care how long it takes. I have three QI chargers in the house (bedroom, kitchen and on my desk) so it makes it very convenient. Keep one thing in mind, once you go to wireless charging you are very limited in what case for the phone that you can use, the official charging back is a touch thicker then the original one, so most cases will not fit. If you go the coil route it does add a slight (very slight) bulge on the back, so again it will limit what cases can fit.
Some people will say why would you spend any money on wireless charging as you can always just plug it it, have most likely never used wireless charging....and just the thought of NEVER having to open that stupid access flap to charge should make it worthwhile...

I don't even have a case on my phone simply because I rarely drop any phone I've ever owned. I did come across one qi receiver that claimed 1000 mA but I'm skeptical lol

I normally use a TPU case (like this https://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Cell-S...cUvbUpU5273706) on my phones.

Is that going to stop the charger from working?
Do you know if the case will fit?

The $15 isn't that big an investment, but from what I understand, once you put the qi coil on the battery, it stays there and shy of buying a new battery you are stuck with it.

A TPU case should not interfere with wireless charging, and if you are using a 3rd party coil most cases fit just fine. If you were going to use a qi charging back cover, then most cases will not fit due to the increased thickness.
