Application not installed?

I just did a siftware update on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, and now many of my apps don't show their normal icons, but rather are grayed out with a picture of the android. When I try to open one that looks like that, it says the application is not installed and it brings me to the app page on Google Play. What happened here? Did it just delete all these apps in the update? Do I have to re download all these apps? I really don't want to have to do that, there's a lot of them. :-(

Did you have them moved to the SD card? You have to move them back before you update, then move them back again. (Android isn't designed to run apps from the card, so updates don't take that into account.)
