Alternative Password issue

hi, I have my fingerprint as a password to use my Samsung S5 mini, but somehow something happened and it is asking me for my alternative password. the problem is, I can't even remember if I ever had a alternative password or if I did I don't know it now. What can I do because I can't use my phone. I can answer my phone when it rings, but can't access my phone to read my messages, make phone calls or log onto FB, etc.

If you can't remember the password do a hard reset on the phone. But before that do a backup on your personal files, like photos, music, videos, etc...
