First time owning an andriod ... how do I backup my rom just in case I delete things that mess up my ohone?

Since you are rooted, I will suggest Titanium Backup. This app is far and away the most used backup app by rooted Android users because of how well. It works. Over and over, this app proves itself. I used to own an S3 that I flashed or updated custom roms on about once a week. Titanium Backup (TiBu or TB) always restored apps just find. So, there is my plug. Countless others will say the same.

I'm just worried about getting stuck or brick my phone or get stuck in a loop... so if I backup s health with titanium or any other app then delete it and if things mess up I can just restore it ? I really just want to remove everything I don't need without any problems

I'm not with AT&T but I'm assuming you're looking to backup your rom to be able to do a complete restore? I found this thread that may help you.
