Can't transfer data from phone with broken screen

I was in a car accident and the screen of my phone was completely shattered. The phone seems to work since it vibrates and makes the start-up sound. I connected it to my laptop with the USB cable and I see the device but since it's not in the import/export mode, the galaxy folder on my computer is empty. I have to return the broken phone to Samsung because I got a replacement and I want to transfer all my data first and then wipe the data from the phone.

Can someone help please? Thanks!

EDIT: I'm using the pattern lock, not PIN or fingerprint.

Thanks for the quick response! I used to lock my phone using the pattern and not the PIN. Would the OTG mouse work with a pattern lock?

Theoretically, it should work, but it may be more challenging, depending on how complex your pattern is.
