    Hello everyone.

I decided to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone (SM-903F) tonight. Followed a couple of tutorials, had Unlock OEM, USB Debugging and Unknown Resources on, etc. Everything went fine, Odin said it was successful, phone booted normally... but as soon as if finished booting, I kept getting errors about my apps not working (some of them were: TouchWiz Home, Download Manager, Contacts Storage, Weather). The screen behind them turn black and I can't interact with anything! Tried a Cache Partition wipe, but it did not fix anything.

I don't know what other information I can give, I was using Odin3 v3.11 and CF-Auto-Root-s5neolte-s5neoltexx-smg903f. Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time were checked.

    What can I do?

Hello and welcome to Android Central Ana Macedo!

Sorry to learn you are having problems rooting your Galaxy S5 Neo, G903F, using CF-Auto-Root. What stock Samsung firmware are you running on your phone?

    Hello! It's 5.1.1. Build number is LMY47X.G903FXXU1APA2.

Here is some more info: I can interact with my phone if I click on the OK enough times, but not everything is working. I need to access apps through the S Finder, and I can't stay on the play store for over 10 seconds until the screen goes back to black (but I can try to access it after). If I connect my phone to my computer, it charges it but I can't access the device folder. However, if I open Odin, it gives me the "Added" message.

    Try...

    1. Download and flash this kernel in AP: in Odin.

If, for any reason, this does not solve your issues you can...

    2. Download the stock Samsung firmware for your model of phone, CSC and Product codes and flash it via Odin by following the instructions and video in the links of #1.11 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. This will at least get you up and running and allow you to attempt rooting again with item #1, above.

I tried step 1 but I still get the same crashing errors. So I wanted to try step 2, but I can't access the phone functions (so I can't dial *#1234#) and can't install Phone Info from Play Store (it gets stuck on Download Pending). So I tried searching for my phone's firmware anyway, to see if something came up and found this (link). The Region (TPH) does refer to The Phone House, where I bought my phone, and located in Portugal, which is my country. It's the only one that matches my build number from the list of firmware on that site.

Would it be safe to install this firmware or do I have to find a way to get those AP/CP/CSC numbers?

Oh and I should say, I bought my phone unlocked but the current carrier I'm using is Vodafone, but the Portugal Vodafone firmware version on that site has a different version number, so I guess I should use the one I linked?

Edit: I forgot to mention a thing! I can access SuperSU. I don't know if this could help or not, but I see an Unroot option on it. Would use it help?

As you have narrowed it down to Portugal and product code TPH, then you can go ahead and flash that firmware to at least get you up and running again. I do not know why the latest CF-Auto-Root for Android 5.1.1 did not root you successfully. Perhaps after you have a chance to make backups, you can try again.

I had to wait a couple of hours for the download to start since it was on slow speed. Flashed it and my phone worked perfectly! Thanks a lot for helping me out on this.

I have my phone backed up now, so I tried rooting again, this time using the root file and Odin version from the link you provided earlier. And as soon as my phone rebooted, those crashes returned. So once again, I had to unroot it.

This is proving to be very hard to root.
