Turn off picture stabilization. :)

In the camera app select the gear (settings) and turn off picture stabilization.

Where do I find the options menu (gear) for the camera? It isn't visible when I have the camera app open.

So you do not have the gear in the bottom left while in the camera app (phone in landscape)? As seen below:

Then turn off Picture Stabilization circled below:

Re: Slow Camera? Do This...

What is the purpose of that anyways?

It is used in low light situations as it extends the shutter speed in order to capture more light and in turn produce a brighter image. This has no benefit in daylight shots so its best to turn it off in all conditions except low light!

Mystery solved. I had my phone in easy mode. Took me a hard reset to figure it out. After the reset, I discovered easy mode is one of the options available via checkbox during one of the dozens of prompts.

Yeah I am surprised there are so many options during initial setup. I'm fine with that but the layperson may have their head spinning

Re: Slow Camera? Do This...

Should video stabilization generally be kept off too, except in low light situations?

Thank you orb2k. I was looking for this for a long time but couldn't find it.
