Wanted to run the crap out of my new S5 to see how fast I could get the battery down to 50%...........should have planned better because this thing lasts forever! First full charge, no power savings turned on. Movies, internet, youtube videos all morning. I even watched the entire AC podcast from yesterday. AWESOME S5 battery!!!Screenshot_2014-04-12-11-09-03.jpgScreenshot_2014-04-12-11-09-11.jpgScreenshot_2014-04-12-11-09-32.jpgScreenshot_2014-04-12-11-09-42.jpg

Nice! And a few months from now, when you're battery doesn't hold its charge as well as it does now, you can replace the battery and have the same experience you are having now!! Double nice!!!

Re: I made a huge mistake today...

I've been very impressed with the the battery on standby too. I woke up this morning at 5 to go to the bathroom, noticed the phone was fully charged so I unplugged it. When I woke up for good 3 hours later, it was at 99%.

Same with me basically lol. Woke up about 4, saw the green light so I unplugged it. I slept in late, got up at 1030 and my phone was only 99%. I had been getting app notifications and Facebook messages during this time as well.

Nope. He is getting his iPhone backed up. I'm playing with his s5. I will get either the Google edition or 32gb. Whichever comes out first. Love this thing. Incredible battery life and this is the first full charge.

Re: I made a huge mistake today...

I used my s4 for a year and never replaced a battery. Think they run around 25 bucks, not sure though.

Yep, thats around what they cost if you buy directly from Amazon. I'm about to purchase one for my S3. Its replacing the original battery. I purchased my S3 back in June 1, 2012.....so the battery pretty much lasted almost 2 years.

This is the type of battery life I was expecting to see, some of other posts were horrific and crushed my hopes.

So it's about comparable to the Note 3, except the battery is a bit smaller (so actually better if you factor that in).

I get about 6.5 hours of on screen time before the N3 hits about 30% but then I charge my phone. I don't typically let them run til the battery icon goes orange/yellow...

That's impressive and shows that they're getting a lot better at optimizing the software to eek out more battery life.

I wonder if battery life will go up in the Post-KK update on the Note 3, when I expect Samsung to port the new TouchWiz over to the Note 3.

Re: I made a huge mistake today...

Nice that phone batteries are becoming more capable. My daughters S3 had terrible battery life. Bad as my og evo, and that's bad

Throw out the crazy high ones and the terribly low ones. The real world usage number is somewhere in between. Looks like about 5-6 hours on screen time is what to expect. Good, but not great anymore.

My year-old G2 gets a solid 6 hours, sometimes even 7-8.
