S5 question

Ive had the S5 for a week and I love it. The one thing i cannot figure out is when i go through my contact list, select a person, the phone automatically dials their number. So when i just want to send a text I have to end the call, select message and then send my text. My old EVO4g LTE never did that and Im just used to it. How do I turn that feature off?

Mine auto dials when I click a favourite contact but not regular ones through the contact list. You can also click on the picture of the contact which should bring up a pop up box showing some options, such as phone, SMS, etc

In the contact list swipe the person's name to the left to call. Our swipe the name to the right to text.
