I just got my S5 today. I have had the Galaxy since the original came out.

Why did they make all the menus white!? Worst of all I can't figure out how to change it back to the way my old phones were. There doesn't appear to be display settings to change this please help and anytime I type in S5 and white menu... I get stuff about the white case phone.

Huh, most of my menus are black. S health is the only Samsung app that I don't have a dark theme for.

Most menus in the phone are not white but typically black or blue, and of course app dependent outside of system apps. Only menus I know are white off the top of my head are in the contacts/dialer. That said:

I too wish they would finally get with the times and offer themes to choose from. One of the things I hate most about switching phones is the changes to the system colors. I prefer everything black, and it saves battery life as well as providing better contrast. Why they'd go white for the dialer and contact list for example is beyond me. It actually really seems to point out completely obviously that Samsung is copying the changes from other vendors. Looks like they went with the more white theme and icon colors of iOS 7.

When I had the Droid 2 a Motorola update over a year later switched the original black theme to blue for the notification bar and dialer. I couldn't stand the blue notification bar mainly so I flashed back to the prior OS version and just never updated from then on. For the S5 though I'm not too bothered by the color schema, it's not that bad and most areas are dark.

The only white menu I have is the phone/dialer, everything else is black.
