Gmail in the Native App

Is it possible to add Gmail to the native app instead of using the Gmail app? I've tried but had no luck. Thanks in advance.

I get "authentication error" for when choosing corporate and some long error (trying to copy it) when selecting "other". Think it could be because of 2-step verification?

That actually very well could be it. I know there is some extra step you have to do in order to use legacy apps with it.. Not sure if the normal app can do Gmail with the 2 step.
