Smart alert working only sometimes??

I used to love the smart alert feature on my past galaxy phones but for some reason on my s5, it'll only work sometimes! I keep it switched on and sometimes when I know I have a text I'll pick it up and it'll do the little vibrate and other times it doesn't do anything at all. Very frustrating!! It's one of my favorite features

Anyone else have this issue?

I also have it switched on permanently but I cant say I pay much attention to it

Maybe you can increase vibration intensity or switch on repeat message alerts to see if it helps

I also had this issue after the kit kat update. It is also a very useful feature for me since I have my phone on vibrate alot so would like to know when get alerts when I pick it up. Now it doesn't work at all and very frustrating. Updates are supposed to make the phone BETTER not screw up other things.

Mine worked for a short time then stopped. Factory reset, worked again then stopped. Samsung repair in Best Buy couldn't figure it out. Found an app called Vibify which does the same thing. Problem solved.
