I got a Verizon S5 the other day and was immediately frustrated by needing the lockscreen in order to use Foxfi.
Fortunately I have a Pebble Watch, and I discovered that I was able to use the Pebble Locker app to override using the lockscreen AND keep the credentials for Foxfi to work.
I -think- you can still do this without a Pebble by setting up Trusted WiFi and Bluetooth devices in the Pebble Locker app, but YMMV.
