Knox is on the phone, you just can't get access to it.

That is Samsung's proof that you have not rooted it and replaced the ROM.

goto Settings/apps/app mgr/ALL and there it is.

Root your phone, trigger Knox, void warranty.

I rooted my phone and last I checked I have not triggered KNOX as I have phone info installed. If I need to take my phone in for warranty purpose I can hide/unroot my phone before I take it in.

Agreed. Towelroot will root without tripping KNOX as long as your phone meets the criteria for towelroot. (If it doesn't meet the criteria, you just won't get root, but it still won't trip KNOX.)
