WiFi grayed out after update

My GS5 is with Verizon and after the latest update my WiFi all of a sudden disconnects and is grayed out. It won't allow me to turn it on. I did a factory reset but it worked for less than a day and now it happened again. A soft reset fixed it but that shouldn't happen. Anyone have this problem?

Could be a defective WiFi chip. I noticed on a very rare occasion my S5 likes to shut off WiFi all by itself. I can turn it right back on but sometimes I don't catch it right away.

I was able to turn it back on by going into airplane mode. I'm getting a new gs5 for other reasons but just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue post update
