So, I had my phone in my pocket during dinner and checked it out later aftwrward, and the Android system was consuming most of the battery. Anyone know of any reason why?

I'll bet it kept turning on in your pocket. Just a guess. I've had that a few times.

I'm just going on the fact that your screen is 29% with 3.5 hours of on time.

With sync off you'll have to check your email manually, as it won't push through anymore. But you can turn it on while the phone is charging or something and let it back up things to your Google account.

You can goto your settings screen and scroll down to "Accounts" and see what all you will be turning off.

But no, it won't affect getting social media notifications.

I don't really know what you're expecting. The phone is only coming on when you have the screen on, I don't think it's a sync "issue." Being down to 30% after 8 hours of pretty heavy use and 3.5 hours of screen time seems normal. If you'll look at your graph, you'll see the battery barely drains when you aren't actually using the phone.

No need to apolgize, I just wanted to point out that your battery life seems pretty solid from my experience and that I don't think turning off sync will do you much good.

Would anyone recommend turning off the LED capacitive button lights? Or does it not rally matter?

Wouldn't be too worried as the device awake times sync up great with screen on. Android OS taking up that much is not bad in and of itself - it's only bad if something is wrong. A device that is left mostly idle will have skewed stats relative to the percentage of battery life used when compared to one that is frequently used for many different apps, etc.
