I recently upgraded my S3 to an S5 and was so excited about the advancements.....until I tried pairing the phone via Bluetooth to, well anything. The Bluetooth will not connect to my car, Bose Speaker, Plantronics headset, etc. I have tried resetting the phone, clearing out the cache, clearing out all the data from Bluetooth, etc.......No luck. I am about to return the phone and wait for the LG G3 to release and swap for that. Any ideas on when a fix or "if" a fix is in the works? On the web, apparently this is a wide spread problem.

^ yep, this. You have to make the appropriate settings on both devices. The process should be very simple. Put your other device into pairing mode per the instructions, it on your phone going to Settings - Bluetooth and click "make visible to other devices."

I have had my Galaxy S5 for a few months. I did not have any Bluetooth issues until Verizon pushed down an OTA update a week or so ago. Since then Bluetooth devices work for awhile then will nolonger pair. I have both Microsoft Sync in my truck and Plantronics M165. I tried clearing the cache as one person recommended but no change. I did a device reset which meant that I had to pair the devices again. That worked for a couple of days and now nothing can connect to the phone. I have not tried the full factory reset yet just because of the hours of work to reconnect back to company applications. On the bright side, the OTA update did fix the black lock screen issue where you could not get into the phone

The bluetooth is very poor on the s5... My M8 would pair as soon as i sat down and turned my car on and automatically start playing music. On the s5 every time I get in my car i have to open the music app and hit play. Then randomly the music will cut in and out and get choppy. Kinda disappointed with this aspect of the phone

I had the same problem connecting to a Panasonic stereo system that had previously been connected to my old S3. Doing a memory reset (instructions in manual) did the trick. Apparently, you have to remove the old Samsung device out of the memory before the S5 will be recognized.
