Issues since new software update

As posted In another therad, I've run across two issues: yesterday, my screen went completely black and I had to pull the battery. Then today a call came through to my phone and it was ringing but it didn't show on the display who was calling it had froze itself on the home screen. I didn't know when the phone updated since I didn't receive the notification of an update.

I been having a notification issue. There is no sound now whenever any email, or text message is received. But in the settings it says there are set. May have to do a reset.

I did a reset after the first issue. As I previously stated, I don't know when the update was applied
