Will the Samsung S5 ever get the Kitkat 4.4.4 update? I have been searching but cant find any solid evidence. I do not know if it is because of 4.4.2 but my battery seems not up to par with what i researched. I feel as if I cant do simple tasks (facebook, tumblr, take a few photos, watch a video or two of YouTube) without a significant battery drain. I do not know if i am just over thinking things but some weird stuff has been happening. My stock music app randomly starting using 30% of my battery randomly even though I do not use that app. I am not a heavy user and maybe expected a little too much from the battery. I posted a few pics below of my battery details and can someone tell me if that is normal?

Welcome to Android Central! Here's some info: Samsung Galaxy Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update Details Arrive

Regarding your battery, it would be useful for you to do the following:

Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

Well it depends on how long you have had the phone, over time the battery will degrade and constant charging will reduce the battery life considerably, even after a year the battery can lose 20% of its total capacity.

I have only had the phone for 5 days. I was expecting to get at least 5-6 hours of screen time easy but I guess not. Do ya'll think the 4.4.4 update will improve battery life?

You already got 18hours. Its gonna be hard to get 5 hours of screen time.

I think the tips are pretty useless as they are all part of the phone and now should be standard and able to be kept on being that it is 2014. Its basically like having a fast car with 650 Horsepower, but only able to use 160 horse power.

If you want to use all of your phone's functions all the time, then you'll have to live with lower battery life. The more functions that device manufacturers and app makers develop, the more battery gets used. Those tips are useful if you want to prolong battery life. Good luck with finding help.
