    Hi Folks,

Try and give you the cliff notes version of what's been happening. Camera broke on original S5. Naturally Verizon replaces my new phone with a "like-new" refurb.

Been nothing but problems. Phone keeps freezing randomly and if i leave it sit frozen it goes into a reboot cycle and will keep rebooting for about 15 minutes. Only way to stop it is to pull the battery.

Verizon had me run the phone in safe mode for a week, still froze. Now they want me to go to a Best Buy and have there Samsung people flash my phone.

Should I do that, or just root it and flash it myself? Anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Nothing in particular seems to be causing the issue, very random.

I would try clearing the cache partition in recovery before seeing the Samsung Reps.

If this does not work, I would back everything up and then go see them.

Had same annoying issue and solved it! No more freezes or reboots.
This is what I did: I erased / uninstalled ALL updates of my apps, e.g. updates from Gmail, Google, the whole lot of them. It seems many updates cannot work with the high frequencies of the GPU's.
Undo 'automatic update' in Playstore under settings.
Hope you will be happy with my experiences.
