Unfortunately I was one of those people who didn't get even a half day before having to charge again.....so I got to looking on the Internet and I couldn't find any real fixes....so I decided to fix it myself....I noticed that android system and android OS were extremely high in battery drain so I found out how to fix it.....all you need to do is disable a few apps....I'm posing pictures of all the apps you need to disable. I found that the Samsung link platform was causing it not to sleep the most but so we're the others. After disabling them...my android system and android os battery drain problem was fixed. Let me know if it worked for you

Agreed on disabling some samsung apps.

But I don't think you need to disable/turn off google apps like G+, hangout, calendar, contact sync. Once signed out, G+ won't do anything. Without calendar/contact sync, your phone won't sync properly for contacts. If google apps are causing battery drain, other phones will be affected the same.

The link platform is the biggest offender there, i had it to and disabled it which helped alot.

Problem with that is that it's used to sync the Facebook Calendar/Events and Contacts, if you disable the Samsung Link you won't be able to do that.

No it doesn't, it enables you to stream media content to Samsung devices like TV's, it's nothing to do with syncing.

Or at least try to keep the sync and uploading settings as battery friendly as possible. With some apps, like Google +, you can even set that the upload runs only with WiFi and when the phone is charging.

My friend, as soon as I disable the Samsung link platform, when you go to your Account Sync Settings and select facebook, you'll see that the only options that stays is Contacts, Sync Calendar and Sync Gallery disappear, I've done it twice and then I turn it on again because I use that a lot.

Mmm apologies it seems your are right on this. I don't know why it should affect those syncing options though, when it is just supposed to be for linking to other devices

Thanks OP, gonna give this a shot, I updated to LP straight after getting my S5 so I have no KK to compare the battery life to, but I do know it is horrendous atm

Seems to be dropping about 1% every few minutes with just the screen on half brightness, almost everything else turned off other than WiFi
