My text message notification seems very quiet on my S5 so does anyone know if the volume for these notifications can be adjusted and stored?

I would try either in Settings>volumes/sound, or if there is an independent setting in Messages>Menu>settings.

You could try pressing volume up on the side rocker. When the volume comes up on screen, click the settings wheel (to the right) and manually slide the bar for notifications volume higher.

Thank you, that's exactly where it was - settings, sound, volume! All sorted now.
