How can I save Google play music to my sd card? I tried it before and when I went to the android folder under SD card, it didn't have the song title. Just numbers. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and a MacBook Pro.

I think that you can move music to SD card, but you can play it only with Google Music application.

Really? I keep looking on the Internet and it says it can be done but no one explains how.

You can move it to SD. Go under Google music settings. Then change storage device. I have all mine on my SD card.

And to answer your question about the numbers. Google music is exclusive and has their own file naming. The music I bought a long time ago and played in poweramp was all labeled wrong. The music I have downloaded through Google music subscription can only be played in Google music player.

Ok. Thanks. I didn't know about that. I usually store my music on a seperate mp3 player or when I had an iPhone I usually stored my music on there. It has gotten tiresome carrying around a phone and a mp3 player. I would like everything on one device.

If you plan on using something like Poweramp. You can relabel the files. I had like 1000 songs I did this with. Wouldn't do it again. I understand the want of having it all on 1 device. IPod is dying a slow death.

Poweramp is the best Music player app for Android out there and has been for years imo. The customization caters to your every need, from user interface to sound, album art, you name it. I have told all my friends with androids about it and they all love it.

No I do not sorry, Poweramp was one of the first apps I got when I switched to Android, haven't tried any other music app to be honest. Anything is better than Google play music.

Or you can go into your (My Files app) >device storage>music>select songs>move to SD card(gives you an option of creating a new folder, (I named it Music sd card) now place all music there). Go into Poweramp app>settings>folders and library>music folders>check the folders you want poweramp to recognize. Dont forget to hit rescan in poweramp once you transfer all your songs to sd card. Hope this helps.

There is an option in settings to enable (Ignore short tracks (notifications) anything 30 seconds or less Poweramp will not recognize. You must enable this option for it to work.

I have all my songs in one folder on my sd card. So if you only have that one folder checked in settings > Folders and library > my folders, then you wont see any other files being played.

If you are using a PAID Google Music account, then you can download from a browser to your phone or computer. They are 320kb MP3, and download into a folder named the same as the album etc.

They are yours to do with what you like in essence.

My issue is that I dont know where to drop it. There are so many file folders. It is not like there is just a "drop it in your music app" selection. I think i screwed up. I "dropped" all my music from my device to a random folder in my SD card. Now my music in the Android Music App is wiped out and I can't find it any where else.

Also, when looking at my files, you can see that everything is empty but it STILL says that my device storage is full. I cleared the cache, but where did everything go. Should I just do a phone reset?

Same for me All my music are on my sd card, but Google Play music App is STILL at 5.00Gb and nothing in the Android/data/com.google.android.music!!! My phone is a Motorola MOTO-G LTE.

I don't have the SD card option in the settings. What do I have to do?

Use the app "Isyncr"...it allows you add your itunes library to your sdcard
