Galaxy Note 10 Deal: BOGO at Verizon!

After years of experiencing data throttling and pack of service. I switched to Verizon. I decided to conduct a speed test in Sacramento, on the heels of sprint releasing spark in yhis market, and this was the result. Not to mention my incredible device handling the nitty gritty.

Welcome to Android Central! Nice. Frankly, I'm always astonished that Sprint is still alive.

My Mom Switched to Verizon and got an S5, I did a speedtest and got similar results as the OP posted above, from her couch. My Sprint (she lived in a Spark Turbo Area) couldn't even get Spark speeds, I was getting 3G the majority of the time I was there visiting. She was on my Sprint account before going to Verizon with her new husband. Dan Hesse's office reached out to me to find out why I cancelled service on that line, so I explained all of the above. I heard nothing really from it. Sprint only keeps me because I have unlimited data, I like subsidized phones, and my family plan is a grandfathered one and I pay less than any of the plans on other carriers for what I get. I do hope that once Spark is more widespread Sprint will get better, with Hesse gone, I'm hoping the new CEO has the whole company getting their act together.

Yep not bad. I am happy with my 50 to 60 Mbps... Can stream whatever whenever . Much better than Sprint was for me.

It is kind of neat that Verizon FINALLY found us poor slobs out here in Cowboy Country where the cows and horses grow......

When I moved up here from Phoenix, AZ (where COX cable provides blazingly fast internet) I felt like I had fallen back into the dark ages of dialup modems, as the only thing available to me is a DSL modem on AT&T.... That was providing me with really fast speeds like 500k and 1.5 mB once in a while..... ooh, do you remember the 300 baud dialup modems that we all started with? I do, 3 years of that crap before 1200 baud showed up, then 14.4k..... now that was Fast! by comparison.

Now, here in Cowboy Country, Verizon is blowing the doors off of my landline DSL with about 40 mB right in my front yard.

Can't access it from my couch as I am using a Verizon Network Extender to get better access inside the house. The Network Extender makes the cellphone batteries last a lot longer as we have 5 bars anywhere in the house now. Contrast that to maybe 1 bar from the cell sites....

Ya'll who live in the metro areas, don't have a clue as to how bad it still is for us in the Cowboy Country places of Rural America.
