You want to get rid of My Magazine?? Very simple.....

Long press a blank area of the home screen. You will see at the bottom Wallpapers Widgets and Home screen settings. Choose home screen settings. Uncheck My Magazine and it is now gone from the left screen..

Thanks! I could not for the life of me remember how to do this when my husband asked me to remove it from his phone just yesterday. I forgot he asked until I saw your post. That was way too easy!

They do it so that they can
    1. Say that they have supplied you with Great Apps
    2. So that they can track your habits, increase their digital data on you and then sell that data!

PS I have not rooted yet (Warranty). I find that on my new Galaxy S5, Bell Canada load, that "My Magazines" and other Samsung Apps, continue to restart themselves after a short time after I "Force Stop" the apps. The Disable button is always grayed out so that I can not permanently get rid of it.

What other Samsung services do I have to disable to get these spies to stop?

This still does not stop this app from starting and restarting and restating and restarting!
I am also unable to DISABLE the My Magazines apps and it continually restarts after I "Force Stop" it.
Do I have to use something else than TouchWiz to get rid of these bloatware from running in the background?

Unfortunately, the only way it can be completely disabled/uninstalled is by rooting your phone.

You also need to check "Restrict Background Data" because today I realized it's consuming for about 100MB per month of my data plan.

Or go one step further and install a Launcher that is WAYYYYY better than Samsung's -- Nova Launcher. Even if you aren't a tinkerer, it's worlds better than Samsung's sluglike Touchwiz.

Thank you so much! I have an Avant (which was represented as an upgrade to my Galaxy III by a T-mobile representative) and didn't show up on any of the other fixes. My Magazine didn't even show up in the applications list under settings.

Thanks! On my Galaxy Avant My Magazine doesn't show up in applications. I couldn't figure out why my data plan was running out of high speed so fast and the battery has been hard to charge or keep charged since the last updates. I wouldn't have found the restrict background without this comment.

I had to click on Data Usage under Quick Settings, then Wi-Fi to find My Magazine. Clicked on it and it gave me the option to Restrict background data. I unchecked that and it appears to have switched off My Magazine. Whatever developer thought that up ought to be fired. I buy my magazines through Barnes and Noble and am totally fed up with all the apps that keep getting installed that I never use but can't get rid of beyond uninstalling to the basic.

Here's another tip. I have EZ disabler pro which allows you to disable anything you want. It also shows you how much RAM any app running is currently using. Flipboard was using 100MB even when I was not using it. So I stopped it using Greenify with the donation package.
