Starting a new thread as the recent thread I replied to seems very old and it was about S4.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Verizon carrier from Radioshack. Within a few days, the play/pause/skip and volume control buttons on the stock earphones stopped working intermittently. They suddenly work like there's nothing wrong with the phone, and then they are dead. All this time, the earphones play music just fine. I also have noticed the microphone not functioning all of a sudden.
A definite issue with the phone (cleaned the jack, reset the phone, restarted phone, tried other earphones and observed the same behavior with the play/pause/skip button). I have ordered a replacement from Verizon but they give us re-certified devices but it'll be like-new and hopefully won't have this issue.
Anyone else in the same boat?
