Galaxy S5: How do I change the order a text message is received?

Hello, I have a Galaxy S5 from Verizon, in which I use the default messaging system of the phone itself. Whenever I am reading a long stream of messages, say about 10 or more, receiving a new message brings me down to the newest message received. This is rather annoying when I am trying to read previous messages because I have to keep scrolling up to get to the same point. This also occurs when I am typing a message.. trying to respond to the message is difficult if the phone automatically views the new message, which causes me to scroll up countless times. There is nothing in the "Messaging Settings" to help my case. Any suggestions?
