Has anyone had their Galaxy S5 updated to KitKat 4.4.4? I'm still on 4.4.2 and I've heard that the S4s are already updated to 4.4.4. When Samsung decides to release 5.0, will I be able to skip 4.4.4?

The update to 4.4.4 is carrier and region specific. I am on Verizon and I've been using 4.4.4 for the last 3-4 months. I heard that at&t started rolling theirs out but, when a carrier pushes an OTA Android update out, they don't make it available for everyone at once (even across a country). They release it in spurts so that their servers aren't overloaded. So someone on the East Coast of the U.S. might already be running 4.4.4 on their at&t S5 while someone on the West Coast of the U.S. could still be stuck with 4.4.X (where X<4).

As for the update to 5.0, I don't think it requires that 4.4.4 be previously installed. It might require 4.4 but I'm pretty sure it doesn't require 4.4.4. Then again, the requirements for Android 5.0 aren't available on the Android 5.0 website (at least from what I can see).

They can skip over an update. As of yesterday, 5.0 started rolling out OTA for the S5 in Poland.
