Default Dialer says "HD"

tonight I noticed that above the name of the person I'm speaking to there is a little square with HD in it. its on my husbands phone as well. I don't recall seeing it before. Does it mean that our voices are being transmitted in HD???

On Verizon anyway, the phone has to be on the latest update and you have to enable the feature (which is free) in your account settings. Once all of the above have been satisfied, you'll see the HD icon that you're seeing. This is VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and as long as you're in an LTE 4g area it will work. Also of note, if you start a call while in a 4g area and move into a non LTE area while still on the call, you'll drop the call. As of right now there's not a handoff from LTE to 3g
