Can i get some help updating my Galaxy SM-G900V?

Galaxy SM-G900V Update Issue

I switched carriers for my Galaxy S5 from verizon to pageplus and my phone update. I'm stuck on 4.4.2. Is there any way around this. Also, I can't use towel root... I haven't done much research on it, is this why towelroot won't work?

1) The only way to update a phone not registered with the carrier it was bought from is to find a captured update file (they do that on XDA Forums a lot) and flash it (or install it - read the thread you find the file in) yourself.

2) The exploit that Towel Root used (it uses Linux itself to root Linux) was patched on June 3, 2014, so if your kernel date is later than June 2, 2014, Towel Root won't work.
