On an older phone (motorolla) I had the ability to talk on the phone and have the directions from the maps app read while I was on the phone. Currently the galaxy s5 isn't allowing me to do that. Is there a way to change this or is this something that Samsung eliminated?

Was that on AT&T ?

I know that my friends on AT&T can talk to me and surf the internet at the same time, so it stands to reason that the mapping system would also work.

You can't do that with Verizon.... I have never tried to use Waze or Co-Pilot GPS while talking on my S5.

It was/is on Verizon. I can search the internet and talk at the same time which is why I was confused why maps didn't work.

I believe he means that the maps app would speak the directions so it would tell you turn by turn directions which it no longer does if you are on a call.

Good news is Google foxed the issue with one of it's updates to maps
