    does it look or feel as if the battery is bloated?
    Put it flat on a table - does it spin freely like a top?
    I'd be cautious & pick up a replacement battery.

    If she's still giving trouble I'd definitely pick up a new battery. If that one kills your S5 then the cost of replacing the phone will be far greater than the cost of a battery.
