KNOX Mode

What exactly is KNOX mode?
When it tells me to tap to enter KNOX mode it asks for a password which I have no idea what it might be as I never created one.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

What you have on the phone is a framework that Knox can link to - if you download Knox. If you haven't downloaded it, there's nothing to run, so it won't do anything.

Knox allows a company to keep its data isolated from yours, so if you leave the company it can delete all its data. (It's one of those "seen to be doing something" things - it's about the worst way to do what they're trying to do, but technophobic corporate America thinks it's something that will protect its data when an employee uses a personal phone for work, so they're happy and they keep buying Samsung phones.)

The best thing you can do with Knox is root the phone and delete all the Knox apps.
