Trusted Bluetooth device

I have purchased a MI Band fitness tracker from Xiaomi and am using it as a trusted Bluetooth device to keep my phone unlocked. It worked flawlessly until this morning and now I have to draw the pattern whenever I don't use my phone for more than 10-20 minutes. Nothing changed in terms of setting since last night, but now when I go I to trusted devices and select the Miband, I get a notification saying that the security features cannot be verified and I may have to unlock my phone first and then the MI Band will keep it unlocked.
Any ideas what happened?

Same thing happened with my bluetooth speakers. Used to stay unlocked all the time. Now I have to enter my PIN once to make it stay unlocked. I think it's just Daddy Google watching out for you

Well, thanks Daddy Google, but I'm a big boy and can take care of myself. From what I gather, Google Play Services were updated a day or so ago... I wish they would fix it...
