Depending on the super user app you are using, you might have it selected where super user is enforcing that apps requesting root must have root permission in their manifest. If so just unclick that option and you will see root request again.

Just double check in supersu settings that "enforce permission" is not checked.

According to the Play Store page, DU Battery saver doesn't require root (so it won't check for it, so it won't get it). Same with Battery Doctor (although I'd never put anything written by Cheetah on my phone - they don't understand how Android works).

Not all apps look to see if the phone is rooted, only apps that need root access do, and not all battery apps need it.

@Vishal - it's in Settings in SuperSU since, at least, 2.01, but that has nothing to do with the fact that not all battery saver apps need root access. (And most of them use more battery than they save, so uninstalling them is about the best thing you can do with them.)

I believe you have a version of supersu without it but its written in the app to only ask for root if the app you are installing has it in its manifest, since google now requires all apps that need root to have it as a permission.
Not all app developers pay attention and change the permission therefor supersu wont notify you.
In previous versions of supersu it would ask to grant root to any app if you wanted to.

By the way all battery apps need root now, so if the developer doesn't add the permission it wont work right.

Also I believe Vishal is OP...
