I would use Google documents and it should sync over.
I have MS Office app on my phone and can open any spreadsheet. You can email it to yourself, or put it on the cloud to access it from the phone
Posted via the Android Central App
You can copy through Windows Explorer if you plug in your phone via the USB cable to your laptop, it will show the phone, you'd select phone or card (if you have a MicroSD). However, the above methods work too. I have a spreadsheet I uploaded to my Google Drive that I track TV episodes I watched versus the current episode, that way I can log into http://drive.google.com and update it via my PC and it syncs with my phone on the Google Drive App, which allows me to update on my phone or tablet too if my PC is shut down for the night.
