Just checked Gsam on my S5 and BBM and Instagram are 28th and 29th on the list of apps that use the most power, .2% each. Not something I'm too worried about. SwiftKey uses more than those two combined.

The problem with some of those apps is that like FaceBook for instance, the battery drain is not always shown as applicable to that app but rather, it appears under Android OS.
