Why does mobile data get unchecked every time I am sent a photo text?

Why does "mobile data" get unchecked every time I am sent a photo text

I have an s5 on verizon. Every time I receive a picture text from anyone , it turns off mobile data and the 4g turns grey. I am unable to download the photo until I go into settings and place the checkmark back for mobile data. This occurs whether I'm on wifi or not.

Welcome to Android Central! That's definitely not right. Have you asked Verizon about this? Do you have any 3rd party apps installed to control data usage?
