My battery life stinks on my phone and I have no idea why. It was charged at 100% or so it said at 10am and now an hour and 15 minutes later I am at 52% battery life with an estimated 1hr and 18 minutes left. What is going on and how can I fix this?

    Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums kiefferfam!

You can use the phone's built-in diagnostics to start tracking down what is using your battery.

Go to ... Settings > Battery... this will display a graph of your battery usage and which apps are using it. See screen shots. You can select each app to determine the usage. You can also touch the graph and this will display a readout of your network signal, wi-fi, awake and screen on times.

Also, if you are running certain apps that are known battery and performance drainers, you can disable or uninstall them. See, http://forums.androidcentral.com/sam...-top-10-a.html

You can also wipe cache partition in case there is any detritus from previous firmwares or apps, that can cause problems. See, #1.3 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide

You can also do a Full Wipe and Factory Data Reset as per post #2 of the previous guide.

Aside from the above post. I'd check settings for wifi, Bluetooth, NFC and that GPS is on battery saving or off and check if you have Facebook/messager, Google photos (shutterfly, photo apps in general), any activity tracking apps (google fit drains my battery fast) that they are set to upload data/sync on wifi only. Make sure you don't have anything installed that maintains excessive wake locks such as email clients or messaging apps that maintain a constant connection.

I'd also suggest installing "gsam battery monitor" or something similar since they provide a little better information on what services or applications that are running and may be draining.

You got something major running in the background.
I would start by taking photos of your battery state in settings and share them here.
Take several shots so we can see the full list
