how is your S5 behaving with soc media apps?

About 6 months ago, I ditched twitter, facebook, instagram, linkedIn ... Essentially all my social media apps in lieu of the browser interfaces. Specifically, Facebook was behaving poorly and eating up inordinate amounts of batter life.

How is your phone playing with these apps today?

I liked the enhanced functionality of the apps but not if they are still stealing resources they are not entitled to.

Facebook app has hated on all my android phones. I no longer use it as an app. I use carbon for twitter and it seems fine. I use instagram sporadically but mostly Google+. Battery life is better when background data is disabled for me and I got a significant boost from running a firewall and disabling background data per app.
