Well, I'll be! Thank you sir! Just hit the update button and BOOM! Downloading a 629.11MB update.

BTW - I'm on Bell, so there. Anything Earth shattering on moving us from 5.0 to 5.1.1?

Oh... and I have to say that I'm quite disappointed that this update did not include Samsung's Smart Manager.

In the upgrade from Android 5.0 to 5.1.1, they have removed the , "0", and added a, "1.1".

I did notice one change - I have my "time on battery" information back. I lost it from 4.4 to 5.0. The line that reads "7h 50m 3s on battery", so there's that. LOL

And the battery seems to have gotten a bit more of a kick in the pants - it was always pretty good, but it seems now to be even better.

Before the upgrade the battery life was great, but now since the upgrade the battery doesn't keep charged, seems to lose it within 2 to 3 hours. I don't know if it is the upgrade or if the phone but this upgrade wants to reverse it and go back to the previous version. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this problem I have the power saving mode enabled and have turned off most things that use a lot of power.

You need to give a new firmware update a few, 3-5, charge cycles to settle down. See #1.6 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide, linked in post #1, above. After an update, it is always a good idea to do a cache partition wipe, #1.3, or even a Full Wipe+Factory Data Reset as per post #2 of the guide if the problem persists.

    Welcome to 21st century Canada!

The mute toggle was added to the worldwide models on build number OB7, way back in February.

    I had the mute button

But It would just kill my noticifications

I had to put the phone on vibrate with vibration intensity reduced to zero

IIRC, that was fixed in the OC7 release in March.

Or maybe it was the priority toggle, but with the mute symbol

    I'm not sure now lol

I tried everything you suggested and it did not fix the problem. Like I mentioned in my initial post I could get almost 2 days on a fully charged battery and now after the update I am lucky if I get 3 hours. I am open to any suggestions.

As per post #10, have you done a Full Wipe+Factory Data Reset?

I have done a Full Wipe and Reset and even put in a new battery and still the same. I am only getting 2 to 3 hours per full charge.

I am experiencing a similar problem. Ever since the update, my battery life has totally gone down the crapper. Before the update, my phone would routinely last over 24 hours on a single charge. Now under the same usuage, I'm lucky if I can squeeze out 13 hours. It's really frustrating.

Can you post some screenshots of your battery usage, to see what is draining your battery in only 2 or 3 hours on a full charge.

I've been reading various forums and it seems like many people are having battery issues with 5.1.1 on the S5... I'm curious if there are people that have had no change in battery performance. stancorbin, let us know if you manage to fix the battery issue.

Also with this update, do the notifications actually deliver on mute mode like they did in kitkat? I really missed that feature.

My battery has actually gotten a bit better. I am a medium use kind of guy, I don't play games, but I do use it for work, phone calls, FB and Google+ (with a bit of web surfing thrown in. I upgraded last week as soon as iron posted this, and haven't done a full reset. I did wipe the partition cache.

If you stream, use bluetooth, game and have long screen on time you WILL suck your battery dry in no time. This is the nature of these. 2-3 hours though? "Inconceivable!" Yes - please post a screenshot of your battery usage near the end of those 3 hours so we can see what's happening.
