I'm looking for consistent information on who makes the best sd cards for the Samsung galaxy s5 android. Mini or micro, I'm not sure exactly which one it is. I just want to buy the largest capacity sd card, and buy it from whoever makes the highest quality sd cards.

Welcome to Android Central! Sandisk is one of the best, and they also have a very good warranty. The official specs for the S5 say it can take up to a 128 GB card, but devices can often take cards bigger than what is listed in the specs--it's just that the manufacturer can't guarantee that it'll always work properly.

i took a punt couple of years ago on a sandisk 256. joy. worked fine on 3 different s5s. 2 weeks ago took another punt on a 400gb sandisk. again works a treat. i read somewhere, possibly on amazon, a guy said he had used his 512 sandisk with no issues. samsung obviously just covering their ***, but seems these great phones can take almost anything. would be great to hear if anyone has tried a 1tb?!
