    If you had Google Photos auto-backup on, check

    photos.google.com

    If you were backing them up to a computer, they'll be there. If there was no backup, you've lost everything with no hope of retrieval. Factory restore erases everything.

    Wrong, there might be a still a chance to recover the photos, but I don't know exactly how.on the computer if you format normally, you could use Recuva, and with luck one would be able to recover the files.

    The same goes for phone data. I remember watching a television presentation, where forensics recovered wiped data, but they didn't tell how they did it.
