If you are on either OE1 or OG5 Verizon firmwares, rooting is impossible for you. See...

Verizon's new OE1 & OG5 updates prevent downgrading or rooting

G900VVRU2BOK3 Update just came out, can you confirm if it is still locked down? I'd like to downgrade, root and uninstall bloatware, then upgrade again. I'm just wondering if verizon listened to it's customers about the locked bootloader.

If you have the latest updates from Verizon then you're out of luck, I've already tried everything, but... Someone from XDA supposedly found something that will once again make it possible to root the SM-G900V, but it's currently not available for the public.
