Broad answer to an app not behaving very nicely.
If an app is causing a problem, boot into safe mode to disable all third party apps. If you are unsure of the app that is causing problems then either uninstall all downloaded apps or even better do a FDR. Do not restore google backup as this will probably restore the targeted app. Be careful adding back apps a few at a time so if you happen to downloaded the bad app again you will know which one it is.
