The screen on my phone has broken although the phone is still working and plugged into my PC. I am wondering if there is a way to get the calendar, contacts and other info from my phone onto my PC

You should be able to see those by logging in to your google account on your pc

Contacts that have the type Google (not Device) will be at Google Contacts. Any phone you put on that Google account (not the gmail account, the Google account - even if the email address is the same) will sync those contacts.

If the calendar is linked to Google Calendar, it's the same - a new phone will sync to it.

For anything else, the data is kept in database files, so you have to have USB debugging enabled, know which database file you're looking for, copy it to a PC, then use a SQLite program to pull the data off. (IOW, for most people, the data is gone.) If you have a friendly local repair shop, they might plug a spare screen into your phone long enough for you to save your data to an SD card or a cloud account.
