My galaxy s5 net explorer browser has been hijacked .

The page that opens is "myboostwandering.xyz." On pressing the back key it leads to another page ostensibly from Google warning about virus affecting the phone battery. In short I cannot use the browser unless I press OK button on the pages, which surely will lead to downloading of the malware. Is there a way out?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to the App Manager, select the browser, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now open it again, and see if it keeps going to that page.

You are using the stock Internet browser, and not Chrome, right?

Thanks for the advice, 7 months on it fixed a hijacking that said, "The page f03b8ec30d245db76571 has chosen you as a lucky winner! Click OK to continue." No backing out, couldn't do anything except close the browser and it persisted for a week until I read your advice about going to App Manager, clearing cache, force stopping then re-starting.
