Forget the H, what about the T? I kid, I know it's up to T-Mobile to decide when and how to release it.

All the Philippines firmwares are carrier branded, Globe, Open Line, Sun Cellular and Smart. So it depends on them.

Canadians took the Android 5.1.1 release of Lollipop, so they're at the back of the queue/line I am afraid.

Don't worry, I've got a guy who is tasked specifically with watching for the Canadian, G900W8, and Verizon/AT&T launches of Marshmallow.

If only the S5 900F had all the American LTE bands. S6 and S7 do. Love the Dwarf reference.

With the S6 and S7, we are beginning to see that some users in the U.S. are switching from the usual U.S. carrier minority variants with their locked bootloaders, bloatware and lack of fast updates and grabbing the Global models on stock Samsung firmware. Hopefully, this will be a wakeup call for U.S. carriers and make them think twice about carrier minority variants, bloatware and locked bootloaders. Samsung, in an effort to get out faster updates, have drastically reduced their S7 portfolio to a Global model (192 countries) + 8 U.S. carrier models + 3 Korean carrier models + 3 China carrier models + 1 Canadian regional model.

forgive my ignorance, does that mean when I am ready to upgrade my S5 I could get a global S7 and it would work on Verizon in the US? My 17 month old S5 has pretty severe screen burn in. Otherwise it has been pretty good. Really appreciate this forum and especially Ironass' helpful advice

Unfortunately, no. Verizon, Sprint, C-Spire and U.S. Cellular still use the old CDMA network and not the the worldwide standard GSM. If it were not for Verizon or China Telecom, Samsung would not even issue a CDMA model of phone.

Because the unlocked version will receive a later version that is more up-to-date.
