I just recently updated my Samsung Galaxy 5 and whenever I try to add an emoji by clicking on the smiley face button, it automatically gives me an error message saying "Unfortunately, messages has stopped" and closes my messages.

Anyone know why this is happening/how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi there!

These updates cause issues, hopefully we can get you sorted without doing factory reset. Locate you "Messages" app in Application Manager, Clear Data/Cache. See if that helps.

If not, Enter Recovery Mode, and do a wipe of the Cache Partition, no data will be loss. See if that helps!

If none of this works, I would think a Factory Reset is in order. BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE DOING THE FULL RESET.
